Shapiropeople.com
A look, feel, and website for Virginia-based piano-rock band Shapiro.

Shapiro came to me with a CD of promotional photos and a request for a full-featured band site, as they’re currently unsigned and focusing on building their fanbase.

We decided to create a site that was more personal and less promotional than your standard band website — a key feature was a separate section for each band member, comprised of a Flickr feed, short Q&A, Last.fm feed, and a simple blog.

Social media integration also played a big part on the media page, which is home to their music, various Flickr photos, and especially their frequently bizarre YouTube videos.

The site was launched in early 2007 and has aged well — I’ve since moved on from building sites in Wordpress, but it certainly did the job.
